What is Manta Network?

Manta is a Layer 1 blockchain developed on the basis of Polkadot 's Substrate framework and uses zkSNARK technology to ensure anonymity, cross-chain interoperability, and high performance. In particular, Manta also runs in parallel on both Polkadot and Kusama networks, with Manta Network running on Polkadot network and Calamari Network running on Kusama network.

Manta Network's products

Manta has two main products, which are Mantapay and Decentralized private token exchange protocol (DAX). Mantapay is a decentralized payment protocol that uses zk-SNARK anonymity technology and allows users to trade different cryptocurrencies through the BYOT (Bring your own token) model.

Meanwhile, DAX allows users to trade private versions of the native Token anonymously with each other through AMM. Manta is also developing a decentralized anonymous lending system (DAP) and a future synthetic asset protocol.

Highlights of Manta Network

Anonymity

Cryptocurrency transactions are usually public due to the transparency of the blockchain, but this can compromise the privacy of individuals or organizations. Manta has created 1:1 ratio of anonymous assets to real assets and enabled them to be used in Manta's DeFi product to solve this problem. Furthermore, Manta uses ZKP technology to protect the privacy of on-chain transactions and extend privacy in a distributed and hardware-independent manner.

Interoperability and combination

Manta can interact with other Layer 1 blockchains in the Polkadot network thanks to Polkadot's XCM cross-chain communication capabilities.

Project team

Manta Network is a project built by an experienced and high-quality team, including professors and scholars from prestigious universities such as Harvard, MIT. Among them, there are three founders who are the main members of the core team, greatly contributing to the development of Manta Network:

• Shumo Chu is a cryptographer with extensive experience in the field, having served as a scientific researcher at Algorand. He has worked with many of the world's top cryptographers and has won the Turing Prize - the most important award in the field of computer science.
• Kenny Li is an MBA graduate business manager at MIT Sloan, with over 10 years of experience in scaling startups. He has known Bitcoin since 2013 and has extensive experience in Blockchain projects.
• Victor Ji is a former researcher at YC China and holds a master's degree in economics from Harvard. He assumes the main responsibility for the product of Manta Network.

February 2, 2021: Manta Network conducts its first funding round of $1.1 million, led by the Polychain fund.

October 19, 2021: Manta Network continues to raise $ 5.5 million for the second time, led by ParaFi and Coinfund funds.

November 16, 2021: Manta Network successfully raised USD 28.8 million through the Squad Game Community Token program from the community. Of which, 80 million MANTA tokens (accounting for 8% of the total supply) were exchanged by the community.

February 17, 2022: Binance Labs announced a strategic investment in Manta Network, but the amount of capital was not disclosed.
